Whitney Houston’s ex-husband Bobby Brown denied reports that he was being shut out from Houston’s family as he tried to stand by their daughter Bobbi Kristina’s side.

TMZ reported that Bobby was being frozen out of attending Whitney’s funeral by some of her family members, but a source told ABC News that Bobby had been contacted about going.

Whitney Houston will be laid to rest Saturday after a private, invitation-only funeral service in New Jersey.

A statement said: “Whitney Houston’s funeral will be held at noon on Saturday at the New Hope Baptist Church in Newark.”

Whitney’s mom (and other family members) believe Bobby Brown wants to make a money grab by leeching onto his daughter, the sole heir to Whitney Houston’s fortune.

According to TMZ, Cissy Houston is trying to block Bobby from getting close to 18-year-old Bobbi Kristina, fearing it’s just a ploy to line his pockets.

Since Bobby is broke, the family thinks he’s making a play for his daughter’s affection to latch on to what could be an estate worth around $20 million, and that figure could double by the end of this year.
