Adele has been trying to keep the birth of her son under wraps. So much so that the new mom, who gave birth back in October, hasn’t even released his name. Another thing she forgot to do as well was register her new son. However, the British government knows about his birth and say that she could have to pay a $1,600 fine for it.

Even though this is a serious issue to the British government don’t expect them to be banging on her door for the money. One source says, “Cops are hardly going to be banging on their door tomorrow and it’s probably just an oversight on their part. Most parents register their baby within a couple of weeks because it’s a nice thing to do – and because there’s a maximum fine of £1,000 if they don’t. There’s loads of reasons why parents are late and millions of couples don’t bother for ages.”

It’s not like the 21 singer couldn’t pay the fine. She just reached 10 million in sales for her album “21″ in just the U.S. alone.
