2013 has gotten off to a rocky start for Kris Allen, season 8 winner of American Idol. On New Year’s Day he, his wife and their dog were in a head on collision. Now everyone is okay, but Kris suffered a broken arm and is a little banged up. His mom Kimberly tweeted the news saying, “”From Kris: he’s in a lot of pain, arm broke, may not play guitar for a while. Prayers welcome please!”

Later she added,”Kristopher and Katy are both pretty beat up but ALIVE! Thank you Jesus! They are setting his arm now and will have surgery tomorrow.”

With the news that he was in the accident he also let his fans know that he was going to be a dad. Later on he tweeted, “Thank you @ford for equipping me with a car that kept my whole family @katyallen @ZorroPup and the little one we have on the way safe,” he wrote. He also added that his tour later this month was still on saying, “”Don’t worry everyone I may have broken my wrist but the #OutAliveTour is still on.”

Kris will be here in Vegas on February 9th at the Hard Rock Cafe on the strip.
