A new study looked at a bunch of different factors, like cost of living, number of pediatricians per capita, and how much it costs to have a baby at a hospital.
And the ten best states to have a kid are Vermont, Maine, Connecticut, Minnesota, New Hampshire, Hawaii, Oregon, Massachusetts, North Dakota, and Washington.
Meanwhile, the WORST state to have a baby is Mississippi. It’s actually cheaper to give birth in a hospital there than any other state. But it didn’t do well in a bunch of other health care categories.
The bottom ten are Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, New York, Georgia, West Virginia, Nevada, Arkansas, Florida, and North Carolina.
