-Rihanna kicked off the MTV VMAs with a few fan favorites.
-Kanye West World Premiered his video for “Fade” but only after he gave a 4 minute speech on everything from Taylor, to icons, to his wife.
-Beyonce performed a montage of songs from “Lemonade.”
-Serious question…did they give out any awards? If so, I missed them.
-Musician Patrick Metzger has coined a new phrase for a phenomenon that is all over the music scene today.
-It’s called “The Millennial Whoop” and it is a sound that is showing up in every popular song.
-He says, “It’s a sequence of notes that alternates between the fifth and third note of a major scale. A singer usually belts these notes with an ‘Oh’ and in an ‘Wa-oh-wa-oh’ pattern.”
-Warning…once you hear it, you can’t un-hear it.
-Study: You learn more from attractive teachers.
-Researchers from UNR used college students for their experiment and found students remembered more of lectures taught by professors they found attractive.
-The authors of the study says it all boils down to human nature…you pay more attention to attractive things, even though it is not a sexual attraction.
-Survey: Women fear getting fat more than cancer.
-Researchers say that many think cancer is something that can’t happen to them.
-More than half of women compare their bodies to their closest friends and less than 20% compare themselves to models, athletes, and actresses.
