This morning the frontman of Imagine Dragons, Dan Reynolds, called into the show today to let everyone know how they can help fight pediatric cancer by supporting the Tyler Robinson Foundation.
Right away we wanted to know if there was any truth to the rumor that Imagine Dragons would be making an appearance at this year’s Super Bowl Halftime show, “I can’t prove or disavow any rumors like that, but I can say that my wife and I found out that we are having twins.
When he found out that they were expecting twins, Reynolds originally though that someone was messing with him, “I thought the doctor was joking because it was all so fast. He just came in and was like ‘Twins'”.
We also wanted to know if Imagine Dragons will be collaborating with The Chainsmokers, “I can’t confirm that either, but I will say that I like your rumor game. You’re up on your rumor game.”
The reason Reynolds called in however was to let us all know how everyone has the chance to see them do an intimate performance during a star studded night at the Tyler Robinson Foundations 2016 Gala, “We will be doing a performance, the band will be performing, and there will be a bunch of stuff for entertainment too.”
The mission of The Tyler Robinson Foundation is to strengthen families financially and emotionally as they cope with the tragedy of a pediatric cancer diagnosis by providing hope, information, and relief through financial services, caring volunteers, and monetary grants.
The Tyler Robinson Foundation begins with the story of Tyler – one of many heroes who chose not to let his prognosis dictate his outlook on life. At 16-years-old, Tyler was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare form of cancer. In the following year leading up to his passing, he was able to touch countless lives.
Those who knew Tyler were inspired by his courage, and his insistence on enjoying life and spreading happiness despite the physical and emotional strain of living with cancer. Determined to continue Tyler’s legacy of creating something positive despite the odds, his family and members of the band Imagine Dragons (who had grown close to Tyler) came together to create the Tyler Robinson Foundation. Below is Tyler’s own story, penned just a few months before his passing. Some people say that Tyler lost his battle with cancer, but we couldn’t disagree more. The real battle is not whether you live or die, but how you respond to the challenge.
